FIrst Date by Krista McGee is about Addy and her quite existence. She is more focused on getting into her college of choice than being on a reality show in front of way too many eyes watching. Unfortunately there are other hands at play and she is selected as one of the contestants for a date with Jonathan.

With lots of fumbling and not so shinning moments she becomes America's sweet heart. While also learning about herself along the way of this unexpected yet totally necessary activity. This was a cute novel but more for the young adult reader.

Love Lifted Me by Sara Evans with Rachel Hauck is so beautifully written I cried at times and was angered at others but altogether it was a magnificent emotional roller coaster of a read. This is the tale of Jade, Max, and Asa. Jade and Max are married but what Jade doesn't know is that Max has an affair with a women obsessed with him that she would do anything to have and keep him, anything. Rice lies and it backfires, sadly this leaves Jade and Max broken and lost. Fortunately threw a few godly events they come together.

Jade with her unconditional love for Asa and a new job offering for Max. They have to cope with past indiscretions, lost trust, and abandonment all while creating a new life together. This is by far one of my favorite novels with the magical way I am transported into the lives of Jade, Max, and Asa.

An Amish Wedding by Beth Wiseman, Kathleen Fuller, & Kelly Long was a pure enjoyment to read. Then again I may be biased because each of these ladies are my favorite amish writers. I loved this collaborative piece in which they told the amazing love tales of a group of ladies from one county. Each of the tales was inspiring and touching in the way they came to embrace God and a better understanding of themselves. If I were to go into detail of the relationships, I think I would give away to much of the goodness of the three tales. Read them you will not be disappointed.

The Christmas Note by Donna VanLiere is such a beautiful tale of one woman's self discovery and anothers forgiveness. As luck would have it these two women, Gretchen and Melissa, become neighbors and become reluctant friends. Both need each other more than either will admit. Fortunately they help one another in their time of need and come out more whole and closer.

Donna writes these ladies with such life that I can relate to them and have meet women just like these characters. They are believable and I really enjoyed that about these characters.

There You'll Find Me by Jenny B. Jones is a perfect telling of how people deal with the loss of a loved one. Finley is mourning the death of her brother and struggling to find the balance she once had. So, she decideds the only way to possibly get back to her usual self is to take the exact route of travel her brother took to and in Ireland, where he felt close to God. Which was just before his death and by way of his travel journal.

God sits Finley next to the one person who will lead her to where she needs to go and be, Beckett Rush. He is nothing like what she expects. Yet both balnce eachother in way they never saw coming. Which will help them find themselves. This story made me happy, sad, angry, and laugh-out-loud with the dialogue. Witty, very witty.

The Realms Thereunder by Ross Lawhead was not my kind of novel. I tried reading it so many times I was so frustrated. I do not beleive it to be because of his writing, I just am not a sci-fi fan. I was expecting this to be a cross between action and thriller like. I was unable to get hooked into the story of pre-teens being sucked into an underworld. I believe if you like sci-fi stories this is perfect for you unfortunately not me.

Bonhoeffer by Metaxas is a remarkable read. I have never been so enthralled with a book of this type. Sadly I assumed it would be dry with dates and tons of facts to his numerous acts. I was happily mistaken. We are given his entire life story, nothing left out. The best aspect is how Metaxas threaded Bonhoeffer's theology and how it guided him through his entire life.

After reading this book I feel I know Bonhoeffer better than I know myself. He will now be known to me as an inspiring christian. I will forever be affected by this man and this book. This should be required reading for high school and college students. Actually everyonw should read this book, it is better and more intriguing than history class. I highly recommend it.

Stained Glass Hearts by Patsy Clairmont is a poignant book for those who need a new outlook on life. This book is also perfect for those who need not dwell on the bad points of any situation but to embrace them and look for the good in them. A lot of the time we become obsessed with being overanylitcal with all of the misery. We need to change the perspective in our lives.

She shares true to life situations of the bad and then through His guidance she finds the good. Making it vitually ridiculous to be miserable when we have our life, light and plenty of faith to make it through.

There will always be tests, mishaps and bad experiecnces but if we can change our perspective, be unselfish and trust Him to guide us we can handle any obsticle.

Sweet Sanctuary by Sheila Walsh and Cindy Martinusen Coloma was magical. I was completely blown away by this book. I thought it was going to be all mushy with tons of over the top scenarios of a single mother. These two ladies created an entire cast of characters and a world so believable that I wish I could be a part of it. I laughed out loud a few times it was so funny but more often than not I was nodding my head in aggreance.

This is the story of Wren and her son Charlie who are trying to keep going and avoid any complications. Unfortunately He has other plans because lets face it life is full of messy bits and they make us stronger. So when Wren's grandmother shows up unexpectedly with a big request, well they have nothing else to do but go along with it. Why would anyone want to upset their sweet and oh so funny 90+ year old grandma. She is a character all her own. Along with the all but forgotten father of Charlie, which has chosen this time frame to reappear. This just makes Wren test herself and know she will get to where all works out.

The best part is the fact that Wren and her son Charlie believe and follow God and know that he will guide and take them to where they need to be and that is all that matters. So in the end they come together and a life long family issue gets resolved and the whole family comes back to each other.

Simply put this is a novel to read.

Water's Edge by Robert Whitlow was nothing like what I thought it was going to be. It was not my kind of novel, I just could not get into this story. It was a complete dud for me. The main character, named Tom, seemed boring with the story plot slow and go. I expected more action and excitement. I well into the novel and had already put it down several times.

The only aspect of the story that was of any interest was Tom's awakening to his spiritual side. He began to believe again and was even baptized in the end. He found himself with His guidance.

Cure for the Common Life: Living in Your Sweet Spot by Max Lucado is the perfect solution for someone in need of a push to their right direction. Or more so just at a loss of what to do or where to go in life that will make them happy in doing so. I believe Max to be the forerunner in this area, he can snap anyone out of anything and get them in their right path.

This book is for the sole purpose of helping its reader find his or her "sweet spot" in life. He gives great refernce text and an amazing collection of examples. The best part has to be the questionnaire to finding your sweet spot, very helpful. Max has hit the spot with this one.

The Quotable Rogue: The Ideals of Sarah Palin in Her Own Words By Matt Lewis was a treat to read. I have been a huge fan of Sarah palin but never had one book to reference any of her thoughts. And this was perfect. My favorite has to be the one were her father says, "never back away, just reload", just the best way put it in lamens terms. Dad's aways have a way of coming straight to the point no beating around the bush.

I really enjoyed reading all of them it just would be too much to re-type them here. Simply put I thoroughly enjoyed this collection of Sarah Palin's quotes a lot can be learned from what is said from another person.

A Reluctant Queen: The Love Story of Esther by Joan Wolf was magical. Having been fictionally based on the story of Ahasuerus and Esther's relationship, I was plaesantly enthralled. I knew only bits and pieces but this telling makes their union sweet. Almost divingly purposeful. Esther was happily living her life with her Uncle Mordecai when news, more of a nightmare, that would or could change the lifes of all jews came to Mordecai. which Esther never imagned possibly happening.

When it was evident to her Uncle Mordecai that immediate action was necessary he asks Esther to step in and try to become the wife of Ahasuerus, the New King. This could make her his confidant and save the lifes of all her people. While Esther belives herself to be unlikely chosen, she is, however, remarkably beautiful and opinionated, which works in her favor. She becomes his wife and he does condfide in her about everything. They form aperfect union and when her moment to shine is put to her, she does so. Saving not only herself but all of her people. This is thoroughly enjoyable novel filled with suspense, intrigue and lots of love.

The Promise of an Angel by Ruth Reid is simply stated... magical. I can honestly say I have never enjoyed an amish novel like I have this one. This is the story of Judith Fischer. She only wants to marry and start her own family. But when she thinks she just might be asked a family tragedy occurs. She immediately ignores her own desires to help but is overcome with guilt, whne a miracle happens.

Judith;s beliefs and desires are then completely shattered with revelations, visions and betrayals. She at one point has no one believing her, they almost shun her from her community but all was revealed and set right. It was such a page turner that I could not put this novel down. I loved every word and the momentun was just to much to bookmark it at any point.

Knitting Knee-highs by Barb Brown is filled with many wonderful patterns. I could not just pick one to start with, I want to create all of them. The photos of the patterned socks was also helpful in understanding how to create them but more importantly the directions were amazing for the somewhat novice that I am. So I think anyone that has years of knitting under their belt can enjoy her patterns as well.

This is a must have for anyone interested in creating socks but has been intimidated to try, I recommend this book for the knitting crafter out there.

The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World by Susan Veness was insightful and frothful of fun facts. When I saw this book in the offerings I just knew I had to get a copy because I have huge hopes of going in about 5 years. My thinking was to familiarize myself with the parks before heading out, to capture as many of the hidden treasures. I love the details she was able to share, most of which I had no clue happened. All of them came together to make one of the most visited parks come true and most enjoyable places to visit.

This book is a keeper and will be packed with me when I make my trek to Orlando, Florida. This is also a wonderful book to have around for those kiddie reports. It is filled with so many good facts that can help with writing those papers. I was so excited to learn that a lot of the buildings are titled after some influential emagineers. They made not have been able to sign their work but they will forever be remembered, little facts like this are what makes this book such a must have.

The Final Summit by Andy Andrews was, I thought, going to be an amazing novel. Sadly I was wrong, he disappointed me with this novel. I just could not get into this one. I have loved all of his other novels and assumed this would be another great read. I will be on guard if I see another of his in the future.

Heart of Ice by Lis Wiehl with April Henry was okay. I have read most of their novels and I keep wishing they will get better but they do not. It takes more than half the book before they grab you. Or at least it is that way for me. The story is about a group of women who are experts in their fields but I feel its missing something. I cannot put my finger on it but I feel they are trying to hard and it has no grab.

Lilly's Wedding Quilt by Kelly Long was a beautifully written tale about finding your own perfect mate, life partner. While Jacob was heartbroken to lose whom he thought as his one true love, Lilly, on the other hand, has been in love with Jacob since their childhood. God knew this and placed them in the right place at the right time. He knew these two were perfect for each other and I could not agree more. Both are strong willed individuals finding their way out of an almost bad situation.

Eventhough Jacob seemed like a quite headstrong man, he had a heart when the situation warrented it. Which is where Lilly comes into his life to help him. In a snap judgement Jacob suffers injuries leading them into a wrong but with quick thinking he comes to a plan. It may seem to be a settling of two people, when in fact its two wrongs making a right. This tale of Jacob and Lilly is by far a favorite of mine, a must read.

What the Heart Sees by Kathleen Fuller is about Ellie Chupp and Christopher Miller dealing with tragedies from five years ago. They were both affected enormously and both were changed for ever. They also both dealt with the their new life situations differently. Ellie accepted and forgave, to a certain extent, and Christopher did not and was angry at everything and everyone.
They both came together and under His guidance overcame their misguidance. It was so beautiful to see their return journey to Him. I learned a few things myself. This would be a great novel to share with my gal pals or really anyone that would love to enjoy a good read.

Love, Charleston by Beth Hart will be my first bad read. I did not like the depth in to mundane things and the lack of back stories for the characters. Also I did not like that the two main characters were completely left out of the story for most of the book but place in when needed to break up all the bad things going on with the other characters. I was under the impression it was a love story of these two and it ended up being solely about her sisters and their misfortunes. I was, needless to say, disapointed in the novel.

The Boy Who Changed the World by Andy Andrews can easily be stated as the best. The best for being able to tell children that what they do can and will affect themselves and those around them. The best examples of how one decision can nurture another. The best illustrations to help narrate the story.

When you put all of the above mentioned tasks in one book you get this. The perfect tale of how a boy does matter. What he says and thinks can and will help someone, somewhere, sometime. All in all this book should be given to children and be kept in libraries everywhere for easy access. Children should know as young and as soon as possible that they matter.

WHO IS IN CHARGE ANYWAY? BY MAX LUCADO IS FABULOUS. I LOVED THE FACT THAT HE ANIMATED HIS STORY FOR CHILDREN. I BELIEVE THIS MAKES IT MORE EASILY UNDERSTANDABLE THAN ADULTS EXPLAINING IT TO THEM. WE ALL KNOW CHILDREN RELATE TO DRAWINGS AND CAN IMAGINE LIFE THROUGH THESE CHARACTERS. WHAT IS EVEN BETTER IS THAT THE MAIN CHARACTER IS A FLEA, WHICH WE ALL KNOW IS NOT FAVORED BY MANY.

THERE IS A YOUNG AMISH GIRL LIVING BY AN ABANDONED BARN BUT WHAT IT DOES NOT SAY IS THAT SHE USES THE BARN AS A HIDEAWAY FROM HER FAMILY AND ALL THEY ASK OF HER. SHE IS LIKE ANY YOUNG GIRL GROWING UP WITH A FEW NOSY YOUNGER BROTHERS. SHE WANTS SOME SPACE AND THIS EMPTY BARN IS HER ISLAND UNTIL ONE BROTHER SHOWS UP AND AN UNEXPECTED GUEST MOVES IN.

WONDERS NEVER CEASE BY TIM DOWNS IS AN INSPIRING STORY THAT RINGS TRUE. I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN FOR FEAR OF LOSING MY MOMENTUM. I LAUGHED, I WAS ANGERED AND I WANTED TO CRY. I COULD NOT BELIEVE THE STEPS ONE WOMAN HAS TO TAKE TO GO ABOUT HER WAY UNDERSTOOD. OR THE GREEDINESS OF KEMP FOR MONEY AND FAME. OR MAYBE THE DELUSIONAL WAY IN WHICH A GROUP OF MEN COME TOGETHER FOR THEIR SLY WAYS.

IN MY OPINION EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS NOVEL IF FOR NOTHING MORE THAN INSPIRATION. I WAS INSPIRED TO NOT SEE MONEY AS SUCH A DIRE NECESSITY. LIFE SHOULD BE ENJOYED WITH SOMEONE SPECIAL AND WE SHOULD BELIEVE IN THE UNKNOWN AND THE UNSEEN. YOU GET AN UNDERSTANDING THAT HE WAS BOTH LOVED AND HATED. THAT MANY DID NOT HAVE TRUST IN HIM AND NEEDED HIM GONE. THAT HE WAS TELLING THE TRUTH OF HIS LIFE'S MISSION AND WILL BE RETURNING.
THE BEST PART OF THE STORY BOOK ARE THE ILLUSTRATIONS. THEY CAPTURE THE TALE WELL. THE IMAGES HELP PROJECT THE STORY. ANOTHER FEATURE ARE THE CONVERSATION TRIGGERS AT THE END OF EACH CHAPTER, MAKING IT EASY TO HAVE DISCUSSIONS. I WISH THIS BOOK WERE AVAILABLE WHEN I WAS A CHILD. I THINK IT WOULD HAVE HELPED INMY UNDERSTANDING AT THE TIME. ONE LAST BONUS IS THE DVD GIVEN TO ACCOMPANY THE TELLING OF THE SOTRY.I RECOMMEND THIS CHILDREN'S STORY BOOK TO ALL FAMILIES.
